The purpose of Állattani Közlemények is to present domestic and international scientific results related to the fields of zoology in order to maintain and develop the professional language in Hungarian. For the information of the international professional public, the title, keywords, summary of the articles in Hungarian, and the titles and captions of figures and tables are also provided in English.
Állattani Közlemények includes review articles, original communications, short communications, book reviews, thesis-like summaries of defended PhD and DSc theses on zoology, commemorations, and summaries (chronicles) of domestic scientific events on zoology. The journal is happy to publish original papers that were presented at meetings of the Zoology Section (Állattani Szakosztály) of the Hungarian Biological Society, but the presentation of the material is not a mandatory prerequisite. We accept manuscripts that have not been published elsewhere in Hungarian, but we also publish a condensed or partially revised Hungarian version of articles published in foreign languages. Accepted manuscripts are immediately available electronically (pdf) in “online first” format – after technical editing. Their DOI number becomes valid when the article is published electronically.
The deadline for submitting manuscripts is continuous, but for the first volume of the current year it is April 30, while for publication in the second volume it is July 31.
Please submit/upload manuscripts intended for publication in electronic form on the MTA OJS interface (https://ojs.mtak.hu/index.php/allatkozl). In case of problems, please send them as an e-mail attachment to the editor of Zoological Publications, using the Microsoft Word text editor, in rtf, doc or docx format. Manuscripts that do not fit the profile of the journal will be returned immediately by the editors.
